Surfing around I notice a few other resellers offering different options for the Clevo D901C machine, options like SSDs, 8 GB ram and even a Xeon X3360 Quadcore. Now I understand that you will only sell what is supported by Sager and I'm cool with that and understand why you have that policy. I've also noticed that once in a while these non-supported features will become supported (after testing/driver updates etc.)My question: Do you forsee selling the Clevo D901C with 8 GB ram or the X3360 anytime in the possible future? When you install components into this laptop that Sager/Clevo does not support then Sager/Clevo will not stand behind the machine or offer any type of warranty service (such as the Xeon). Sager has very high respect for Clevo and will only offer what Clevo has tested and currently supports. These various resellers are offering these products knowing that Clevo doesn't support them or offer any type of warranty service.
Another issue with 8gb memory is that the only has a maximum of 8GB addressable space, a good portion of which is necessary for hardware, so only about 6GB +/- will be usable for applications. Clevo also doesn't support SSD's or Xeon processors in the d901c/9262. You can view full details on the P965 chipset by clicking the link above. We don't expect to sell the 8gb memory option but may in the future (once supported by Clevo/Sager) offer a 6gb memory upgrade option.

Majority of all users won't utilize more than 4gb of memory unless you are using certain photo/video applications.
