Installation Soundmax Pilote Introuvable
I'm using a ASUS P5N32-E SLI PLUS Motherboard, which comes with the SOUNDMAX ADI 1988B 8-channel High Definition Audio CODECI bought myself a new case and HDD after faults with my previous case and HDD, and did a successful clean install of my years-old copy of XPpro with SP2 and then went about installing my Asus drivers, just like I did when I first set up my motherboard. Only this time round, I couldn't for the life of me install my SOUNDMAX drivers.Whenever I run the setup, it freezes on 'Setup is searching for installed features', and eventually I get the following error:'The HDA Audio Bus Driver is required and not found'Apparently, this is a very common problem, and you can find a number of solutions online via a Google search, but none of them seem to work for me. I'm at my wits end with this and am now left with a motherboard that has no audio.Has anyone experienced this problem before and founf a way to fix it?
Quote:1) Regedit and search for any occurances of 'Soundmax', 'UAA', 'HDAudio', 'KB888111', and 'Analog Devices'. Delete the KEYs above anyvalues that contains one of these search terms.2) Reboot. Do NOT let Windows install any new hardware.3) Check Device Manager, you should have a Yellow/Exclamation unknownPCI Device that wasn't there before. (It's the HDA Bus, but it won'tsay that).4) Download and run the HP patch SP33867, and the Intel fixkb888111xpsp2.exe6) Reboot. Let Windows autoinstall any new hardware.7) Check Device Manager, you should have a Yellow/Exclamation 'AudioDevice on High Definition Audio Bus.' That wasn't there before.8) Download and run the SoundMax install package designed for yourbrand/configuration. Anyway, what is a 'Key'? I should mention that I have found 2 soloutions online that may have some promise, but they don't explain the soloution clearly enough for me to understand, so I wonder if anyone can help explaining these any clearer to me:Where in Device Manager will I find this 'PCI device'?Now, I know this is a stupid question, but when it comes to messing with the registry I want to make sure exactly what I am doing. Anyway, what is a 'Key'?The PCI device should have an exclamation or question mark symbol (it's just using the generic PCI Device name because the HD audio drivers aren't installed). The registry key it wants you to delete is the registry 'folder' that contains those words. If you search for 'SoundMax' and it highlights a value in the right hand window, the bottom of the regedit screen in the status bar should tell you the registry key you are viewing. I wouldn't know what to look for tbh Francis. I'm not bothered about the rather crap little 'audio card' they provide with the motherboard, it's the optical SPDIF out that I've always used.
I assume it has to detect this sound card before I can install the drivers and get the SPDIF working though?Should I assume that the soundcard would only show in the Sound,Video, Game Controllers or System Devices sections? In system devices there are some items called 'System Board', 'System Speaker', 'System Timer' which if I click on say there are no drivers installed. Could that be it?Here's what I see. Well, I finally fixed the problem today, turns out that my farty little audio card wasn't inserted fully - the reason? Well, with my new Antex case came new, slightly longer screws to secure the ATX motherboard to the case, and the audio card's PCI slot is right next to one of these screws, with a piece of plastic on the card just before the connectors jutting out and hitting the longer screws that I was using. We're talking millimetres here - I could still screw the metal backplate in fine and secure the card - but obviously it was just enough for my PC to not detect the damn thing.Ah well, at least it's sorted.
Logiciel installation alertegps g300 driver. I just want to convey my appreciation to Francis for all his help. Muchos Thanks m8!

You can get this error for any number of reasons, and there are dozensof possible solutions online. The only one that worked for me (foundafter 5 hours of searching and trying everything) was the one at thebottom of this page. It seems to be for xp sp3, but who knows where itmight workBasically you download, install it in the device manager (it may prompt you for a CD, ignorethat and navigate directly to hdaudio.sys) and you're golden. I hopethis saves other people the aggravation I went through.
